You Might Be a Redneck if…

Well, according to the Department of Homeland Security, if you’re reading this blog.

Apparently if you are conservative, you might be on the government’s “watch-list.” If you object to the federal government destroying liberty and economic freedom you are one of the  “right wing extremists -  categorized right up there with racists, fascists and other violent anti-American groups.

Michelle Malkin covers the territory best, although it was first covered (or uncovered) by Roger Hedgecock. Here is just a snippet :

From the report, p.2:

Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

  Hedgecock says in his summary:

This report smacks of profiling and harassing American citizens based on their political views, and specifically based on their opposition to the Obama administration's proposals.

This used to be called "democracy" and "free speech" protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. But under Obama, "Homeland Security" has become an instrument of oppression of opposing points of view.

According the the Washington Times, the administration is backing away from the DHS’s report. Really? Maybe they sense that non-Obama’s draw the line at being compared to William Ayers.
