It Appears we’ve been “Buried”

Thomas Sowell’s excellent article on our "post racial" president explains eloquently why Barack Obama won’t be putting racism behind us any time soon. As we’ve suspected all along, a man with BHO's affiliations and instincts is hardly the man for the job.

Mr. Sowell elaborates on why this is:

What does a community organizer do? What he does not do is organize a community. What he organizes are the resentments and paranoia within a community, directing those feelings against other communities, from whom either benefits or revenge are to be gotten, using whatever rhetoric or tactics will accomplish that purpose.

To think that someone who has spent years promoting grievance and polarization was going to bring us all together as president is a triumph of wishful thinking over reality.

Had conservatives been allowed to vet this man when he was a candidate without having been tarred as a racist, if half the country hadn’t allowed their hope to overrule reality, we might not be here today. But as the Democrats are fond of pointing out, they won. And elections have consequences. In the immediate case that would be America barreling down the freeway to Marxism, with nothing to stop us but a few toll booths.

One of the commentors on Mr. Sowell’s article advised us that the proper translation of Nikita Khrushchev's threat to capitalist America back in the 1960’s was not " We will bury you!" as widely reported, but rather "We will Barry you!"

I guess we need to start shoveling ourselves out. Faster.
