How odd. For most mid-westerners upstate New York conjures up bucolic rural settings, Hudson River Valley painters and vineyards. Come to think of it, that probably explains a lot.

You should do a post on the area for those of us not familiar (or maybe you have). Would love to read about it.

Interesting. Detroit is just the most reknown, so much of the American northeast is just as defunct. Until the "great society" way is rejected, I believe areas like this will stay as they are.

I am thankful everyday I escaped upstate New York, the lifestyle and mentality that is so pervasive up there.
